The New Backlinks report in Site Explorer shows all the new backlinks that your website or URL received for the time-frame selected.  

Sometimes, you may notice a "Delayed" label in red next to one or more of these backlinks.  

Let's get familiar with what the Delayed label means:

Delayed - Our robots have discovered the linking page more than 90 days ago, but we only crawled it just now due to our crawl prioritisation algorithms (hence the term - delayed)

It looks like this:

Please note:

  • Keep in mind that the new backlinks reported by Ahrefs are not due to the date that they were published or went live; but instead when Ahrefs crawled and indexed them.  

  • Also pay attention to the "Found" column to see when we last crawled the Referring page and found the backlink (pictured in image below):
