Legacy plan limits explained

This article explains in detail every limit/credit in your Ahrefs account

If you have a legacy subscription, it will be switched to one of the new plans by the end of October 2024. You would have received an email about this to your billing email associated with your Ahrefs account.

User seats

The number of users that can have shared access to your workspace.

Additional user seats

Optional add-on to each plan. Each additional user seat above the package default limit costs $30/month or $300/year.

Projects

The maximum number of websites, web pages, or website subsections that you can set up for automatic tracking and analysis across major Ahrefs tools. The projects are added to your Dashboard and created for Site Explorer, Rank Tracker and Site Audit at once.

If you decide to delete a project, it will be removed from all the connected Ahrefs tools as well.

Additional projects

Optional add-on to each plan. Each additional project above the package default limit costs $10/month. Note: this add-on is available with monthly plans only.

Rank Tracker

Tracked keywords

The maximum number of keywords that you can track across all of your projects. If you track one keyword in two locations, two credits will be consumed.

Update frequency

Shows how often Rank Tracker will update the ranking positions for all of your tracked keywords.

Mobile ranking

Shows if your plan allows rank tracking in mobile search results.

Site Audit

Crawl limit, pages per month

The maximum number of the website’s internal HTML pages that can be crawled per month. Learn what URLs do not spend this credit here.

Note that the "month" here means the monthly billing cycle (billing month). I.e., if you subscribed on Sept 6, your billing month lasts from Sept 6 to Oct 5.

For each verified project, the first 5,000 crawl credits per month spent to crawl this project is free. This is available for users on all plans.

Optional add-on will be $50/month for 500k crawl credits

Data retention

Shows how long we store crawl data for you.

JavaScript rendering

Shows if your plan allows to crawl and render JavaScript.

Site Explorer

Domains per week

The number of domains you can research per week. Researching different URLs from the same domain will count as one domain.

URLs per week

The number of URLs or subfolders you can research per week in Site Explorer.

Rows per report 

The maximum number of results you can view in a report from Site Explorer. See "Export rows per report" for the maximum number of results that you can export.

Rows per month

The maximum number of results you can view in a report from Site Explorer per month. See "Export rows per month" for the maximum number of results you can export.

Site Explorer's Rows per month are also used to display graphs and tables in the Overview report. Loading a single Overview report can consume 2500 - 8000 from your Rows per month limit, depending on the amount of data that is shown in graphs and tables. Loading the exact same report in the same 30 minutes will not consume from this limit repeatedly.

Conserving Rows per month

Overview report consumes the most Rows per month because of the large number of graphs and tables it has.

To reduce consumption of rows per month, you can set graph frequencies from "Daily" to "Weekly" or "Monthly", this will reduce the row consumption by 7x, or 30x respectively:

Do note that changing this setting can only be done if you have Rows per month to spend, and will only be saved for the user that is currently logged in.

You can also set a particular graph to be minimised by default. Rows per month won't be spent for that graph until it is opened:

Link intersect, rows per report

The maximum number of results that you can view and export in Link Intersect report.

One result shown to you in the report equals one row.

Export, rows per report

The maximum number of results that you can export from one report in Site Explorer.

Ranking index

Keyword positions

Limits the ranking positions for the organic keywords in Site Explorer reports to Top 20 (Lite plan) or Top 100. Note: you’ll be able to see all keywords your websites are ranking for in Top 100 with Lite plan if you verify ownership of them.

Competing pages / domains

The maximum number of results that you can view and export in Competing Domains and Competing Pages reports.

Content gap, rows per report

The maximum number of results you can view and export in Content Gap report.

Top pages / subfolders / subdomains, rows per report

The maximum number of results you can view and export in the Top Pages, Top Subfolders, or Top Subdomains report.

Export, rows per report

The maximum number of results that you can export to a .csv file from the Organic Keywords reports.

Historical index

Shows how far back each plan allows to go for checking historical keywords data.

Content Explorer

Reports per week

The maximum number of searches (reports) you can run in Content Explorer per week.

Rows per report

The maximum number of results you can view and export in Content Explorer report. Note that in "One page per domain" mode you can view and export only up to 2,000 rows (results).

History graphs, time period

Indicates the timeframe that you can set for the three historical graphs for the search results. These graphs show the Referring Domains count, Organic Search Traffic, and Traffic Value over time.

Trend graphs
Indicates the number of search results that will show the preview of the history graphs.

Broken pages

Indicates if searching for broken pages is available in Content Explorer for your subscription plan. Learn more in this video.

Export, rows per month

The maximum number of results you can export from Content Explorer per month.

Note that the "month" here means the monthly billing cycle (billing month). I.e., if you subscribed on Sept 6, your "billing month" lasts from Sept 6 to Oct 5.

Keywords Explorer

Reports per week

The number of keyword analysis reports you can run per week. You can analyze up to 10,000 keywords in one run, which will still count as one report.

Keywords lists

The maximum number of keyword lists that you can create in Keywords Explorer.

SERP updates per month

The number of times you can request "fresh" SERPs for a keyword per month. This will update the SERP Overview, Keyword Difficulty, and Parent Topic for the keyword.

Note that the "month" here means the monthly billing cycle (billing month). I.e., if you subscribed on Sept 6, your "billing month" lasts from Sept 6 to Oct 5.

By default, Keywords Explorer shows the cached top search results for the keywords.

For high-volume keywords, we update (and cache) search engine results pages (SERPs) often enough to keep them fresh. But for less popular keywords, we update SERP data less frequently.

You can request to get the current top 10 results for any keyword in a given country by clicking the "Update" button.

Rows per report 

The maximum number of results that you can view and export in Keywords Explorer suggestions reports or when you analyze keywords in bulk. You can apply relevant filters to “fit” the results into this limit.

Rows per month

The maximum number of results that you can view and export in Keywords Explorer Keyword Ideas reports or when you analyze keywords in bulk, per month. We deduct 500 rows by default if the Keyword Ideas report contains 500 or more keywords.

Export, rows per month

The maximum number of results you can export from Keywords Explorer per month.

"Newly discovered" keywords

Indicates the timeframe for the Newly Discovered keywords suggestion report available for your plan.

SERP position history

Indicates the timeframe available for the SERP position history graph for your plan.

Alerts

The maximum number of email alerts you can create to get notified of new and lost backlinks for any website or page.

Monthly / Weekly / Daily

Indicates the maximum frequency of the alerts.

New keywords

The maximum number of email alerts you can create to track new keywords as well as keyword ranking changes across positions "buckets".

Monthly / Weekly / Daily

Indicates the maximum frequency of the alerts.

Extra tools

Batch Analysis, rows per month

Amount of monthly searches you can perform with Batch Analysis tool.

Integrations, rows

The number of exportable data rows when using applied third party tools. Ahrefs' Integrations allow you to retrieve Ahrefs data from these tools using Integration rows or credits.

Note: Legacy API plans can no longer be purchased, and the legacy API is scheduled to sunset on 1st March 2024. Integrations with the Legacy API will still work however. The new API is available only on the Enterprise plan
