There are two ways of installing the Ahrefs SEO WordPress Plugin:
From within WordPress
Manually
From within your WordPress admin
Visit 'Plugins > Add New' in your WordPress admin panel.
Search for 'Ahrefs SEO'.
Install Ahrefs SEO once it appears.
Activate Ahrefs SEO plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
Go to the 'after activation' section below.
Manually
Download the plugin zip file from WordPress.org.
Unzip the file to get a folder named 'ahrefs-seo'.
Upload the ‘ahrefs-seo’ folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory of your site.
Activate the Ahrefs SEO plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
Go to the ‘after activation’ section below.
After activation
Click on the Ahrefs SEO tab.
You should see the Ahrefs SEO setup wizard.
Connect your Ahrefs account if you have one. No worries if you don’t; you can opt for a free Authorization code. The free code is temporary and expires every few weeks, so you’ll have to reconnect the plugin each time this happens. This connection to Ahrefs is needed to pull backlink stats for your articles.

Next, select article categories and pages to include or exclude from the audit. Exclude pages whose purpose is not to rank in organic search, such as "Privacy" or "About”. You can also schedule content audits to run automatically each day, week or month. All these settings can be changed later in Settings.
Voila, that’s it – you’re ready to use the plugin!
